As part of the HII Global Day of Caring campaign and in conjunction with the SummerNy Ranch herding community, HII Mission Technologies division and local organizations, herding dogs from all over the region will put on a show of their amazing talents in exchange for soup and pasta!
We are hosting a herding competition Saturday November 5th, starting at 9:30 am. This will be the last event of the season and we would like to do something special for the community.
Welcome to the first annual "Will work for Soup and pasta Trial"!
*****To help boost this event, October 6 through November 5, SummerNy Ranch is donating 10% of all lessons and camps towards this cause.******
In lieu of entry fees, we will be supporting the Pine River Shares backpack food program and collecting chunky soup and Knorrs (or comparable) pasta meals. This program fills weekend backpacks of food for elementary school kids. Many of the families in this area have agricultural jobs which go away in the winter. With food prices soaring, it can be hard to make ends meet over the winter months. It is a great program. You can learn more about it at www.pinerivershares.org.

Where: SummerNy Ranch • 227 CR 511 • Ignacio, CO 81137 (About 30 min from downtown Durango)
Coffee, water and lunch will be served.
PUBLIC WELCOME!! Admission: 5 cans chunky soup (can or heat and serve) or 10 packets Knorrs pasta meals.

All monies go to Pine River Shares for the purchase of soup and pasta. For every $10, we count 4 cans of soup and one pasta packet.
Entry fee: 12 cans of CHUNKY soup (can or heat and serve) and 5 packets of Knorrs pasta meals. (Approx $30 total) ******PLEASE BRING SOUP AND NOT CASH******
This covers both rounds. Finals round is included.
This is time and points. Course will be shown on the day of the event. We will go two rounds of sheep plus a finals round. We are only running sheep for this event.

Our goal for this inaugural year is 1000 cans of soup and 250 packets of pasta meals. So far we have 122 cans and 25 pasta packets!

- This is a targeted food campaign so please stay within the guidelines. We are working directly with Pine River Shares to meet their greatest need.
- Geese rental is available: 5 cans of soup per dog. We will not be running a geese competition but folks are welcome to practice with geese if they bring extra soup!
- Coffee water and Lunch will be served and we may have a raffle (all proceeds going to soup and pasta!)
- If you don't have a dog and would like to participate using a trained dog, no problem! We can provide a dog for you for an additional 20 cans of soup. You must run in the competition.
