Herding Instinct Tests
Not sure if you or your dog will like it? Cathy will take your dog in on sheep and work them for 10-15 minutes to see how they like it and provide a next step evaluation. Instinct Tests are $25 and are scheduled on Saturdays. Please do not pay for an instinct test until scheduled.
Practice We are open for practice as well. Just email me a time you would like to come out and I will make sure stock is ready. Practice is $25 per stock per dog per day (sheep and geese). Schedule practice time now. |
Private Lessons
Private lessons consist of two working sessions with your dog. If your dog is over exuberant - no problem! Cathy will work your dog for you until you get to a point where you can handle your own dog. Sometimes having a new handler handle a new dog is like putting a person who has never ridden before on an untrained horse - it can be a rodeo! If you would like to learn the sport but your dog needs more training, Cathy has two lesson dogs which she uses to help you get an understanding of the sport. MoMo, Rook and Rowdy are all advanced level dogs who love to work.
Note: If you are looking for someone to handle your dog specifically for titles, there are many trainers who specialize in this. Cathy is 100% full on dogs she handles. |
Camps
Want to join a camp? Get 3-6 of your favorite herding folks together and Cathy will work with you to schedule a camp and design the agenda to meet the needs of the attendees, including training material.
Every camp is two and a half days of action. We limit the number of attendees for camp to 4 per trainer. If 4-6, Cathy is the only trainer. If 7 or above, Cathy brings in other trainers to help so each dog/handler team gets plenty of work.
